Makhachkala, June 1, 2010. On May, 31, the meeting of the President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov with rectors of the universities of the Near-Caspian states took place in Makhachkala.

The head of the administration of the President and the administration of the government RD Gasan Idrisov, the first deputy chairman of the government RD Nizami Kaziev, heads of some ministries and departments and other officials took part in the measure.

Opening the meeting, the head of Dagestan noted the importance of XIV General Assembly of Association of universities of the Near-Caspian states. “The republic authorities want to achieve, leading positions on social and economic development among subjects of the Russian Federation. Water-power engineering, building complex, manufacture of building materials, agriculture and tourism are perspective branches of Dagestan’s economy.

That’s why we attach importance to mutual cooperation with the countries of the Near-Caspian states”, - Magomedsalam Magomedov said.

“There is no doubt that cooperation between our universities promotes development of interstate relations. We appreciate the contribution of Association to these relations. The Republic of Dagestan will give all possible support in work of Association”, - Magomedsalam Magomedov declared.

The rector of the Dagestan State University Murtazali Rabadanov thanked the head of the republic for attention to problems of Association. He noted that Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia take part in the Assembly.

At the end of the meeting participants exchanged souvenirs.
