Makhachkala, August 31, 2010. On August, 30, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov arrived in Derbent. He was accompanied by the member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Sijabshah Shapiev, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Sergey Mironov, the deputy head of the department of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Sergey Vasilev, the adviser of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia Boris Djakonov, the First Deputy Chairman of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan Nikolay Alchiev, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Dagestan Magomed Dibirov.

After arrival guests of honour met with the acting as the mayor of Derbent Imam Jaraliev.

I. Jaraliev thanked the Chairman of the Central Election Commission for attention to Derbent and noted that the city Election Commission will hold an election under Russian legislation.

Vladimir Churov noted that the Central Election Commission of Dagestan shouldn’t make mistakes of the previous election in Derbent. He also expressed hope that law enforcement officers can maintain order during elections.
