Makhachkala, March 16, 2010. According to the decree of the president of the Republic of Dagestan № 59 from March, 10, Umarosman Gadzhiev has headed the Committee of journalism and mass communications RD. On March 15 the new chairman was presented by the first vice-chairman of the government of Dagestan Nizami Kaziev and the head of department of an informational policy and the press-cutting service of the president of Dagestan Garun Kurbanov.

The first vice-chairman of the government of Dagestan Nizami Kaziev explained the situation in the republic, and said about tasks of the committee.

“The president of Dagestan said about the basic directions of his policy. This policy is connected with innovation, modernization in economy and in the other spheres.

The task of the Committee of journalism and mass communications RD is the ideological support of the state policy in all directions”, - Nizami Kaziev said.

Garun Kurbanov noted that there will be no basic changes of functions and functional duties in the Committee. According to Garun Kurbanov, it is necessary to give a close attention to electronic mass media.

“We understand that electronic mass-media are very important for the life of the society, and it is necessary to have a committee which will be engaged in TV development, broadcasting development, Internet development and other forms of electronic communications. The new head of the department understands problems of this sphere”.

The head of the Committee of journalism and mass communications RD Umarosman Gadzhiev said: “We work together for 16 years. Today is an epoch of changes. It is difficult to live in such epoch, but it is interesting. Representing the new government, the president said that Dagestan requires serious changes in social and economic, political and ideological spheres. It directly concerns our work. We should reflect all changes, evaluate.

We have many non-governmental mass-media in the republic. We should try to unite efforts with them, because we do the common cause – we inform the population about the events in the power and we inform the power that the population thinks. This work should be joint”.
