An opening ceremony of the new bridge over the river Samur was held in Magaramkentski district of Dagestan. The said bridge will connect two states - Russia and Azerbaijan.
The earlier existing bridge has worn out and needs capital repair. The construction of a bridge over the river Samur at the Novo-Gaptsakh-Tarigkent-Yalama highway near Filya village was held by the bridge repair and construction department.
The bridge is held for creation of a reliable motor highway near the settlements of Meheremkent region on the right bank of the river Samur as well as the doubling access of the Caucasus federal highway in the territory of Azerbaijan via the Yalama and Filya access points.
The bridge is 500 meters in length and together with the accessways extending to 1300 meters. According to the constructors and frontier guards, about 1000 cars will pass through this bridge in a day.
Both passenger cars and trucks will pass by the bridge.
