Makhachkala, August 21st. Appeal of Dagestan president to speed up work on attraction of investments into the economy of the republic, to provide conduction of the consecutive and coordinated state policy in the sphere of investment activity has recently been embodied into a number of investment projects. For example, the richest Dagestani Suleyman Kerimov has allocated 100 million dollars under different investment projects for the republic. One of such projects is construction of plant on automobile glass production by a float technology (horizontal glass drawing). The plant will be constructed "on a turn-key basis" in Karabudakhkentski district of the republic. The project will allow meeting the increased demand of Dagestan and the nearby regions for top-quality building glass of various kinds and different sizes and colors made by advanced float-technology for construction, furniture manufacture, motor vehicle production industry, etc. The total cost of the project is 5200 million rubles. Capacity of a factory is 11 mln. sq.m. of glass a year with the profit of 450 million rubles. 200 work places will be created within the project realization. Another big project which will be realized in the republic in 2007-2009 is the construction of cement combine with full technological manufacture. The Open Joint Stock Company «Makhachkala cement grinding industrial combine» will be built in Buinakski district of Dagestan.
