Makhachkala, December 4, 2007. The municipal elections are still being summed up in the republic, but pre-election campaign is considered practically closed.

 

Within the framework of a press conference, devoted to preliminary results of the elections, the president of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev has declared: "I consider that as a whole, the elections have been organized in a proper way, and we are satisfied with the results. Especially, we are satisfied that the overwhelming majority of Dagestanis has made a choice in favor of the "United Russia" political party. That is, in favor of that internal and foreign policy, held by the president Vladimir Putin.

 

“I believe such concurrent voting of Dagestanis for the "United Russia" is our fellow citizens’ comprehension of those positive changes, which take place in our country last years, and also changes in the economic and the socio - political life of the republic” – the president said.
